Selection Process

Selection is used to determine which applicant will be hired into a position.

Applications are reviewed to determine who is eligible to compete further in the selection process. The review is based upon the position's requirements. Only those applicants who appear, after the initial screening, to possess the required minimum qualifications and any required entry-level knowledge, skills and abilities will be further considered in the selection process.

The Disability Service Agencies use only job-related criteria to select those applicants who will be asked to participate in additional assessment steps, which may include an oral interview and/or a work sample exercise.

Job-related information gained during the selection process will assist the hiring official in making the final selection decision. Equal employment opportunity objectives also are considered by the agency in the decision-making process.
